If you are reading this article, chances are you are currently in Taipei and find yourself suddenly craving some golden, sweet, crispy thing of deliciousness. A Churro.

But here’s a question: where can I get churros in Taipei other than in a theater (where churros are usually overpriced given their mediocre quality)?

For your next churro craving, I have compiled a list of my go-to places where I usually get churros when it becomes absolutely necessary.

These locations include bars, restaurants, breakfast stores, and takeaways so you can choose which one to go base on occasions. That being said, I definitely recommend trying them all before deciding which one is your go-to!

1. Nonsense Cafe & Bar

Pairing your churros with craft cocktails? What nonsense! Exactly!

I put Nonsense Cafe & Bar on the top of my list because it is the only craft cocktail bar I know serving delicious churros to pair with your drink!

They serve classic churros with honey dip as well as cup-shaped churros filled with cream cheese or ice creams, heavily sprinkled with cinnamon sugars and oreo dust, both are extremely delicious. Their churros are soft-core churros which means they are crispy on the outside while soft and creamy on the inside.

This is my go-to place when I suddenly want some alcohol but also want some churros at the same time, which obviously is a situation that happens to a lot of people at least twice a week.

But how are their cocktails, you ask? Well, they are indeed really good! I recommend choosing one of their tea-infused sparkling cocktails, believe me, they go so well with Churros!

Nonsense Cafe & Bar

What kind of churros do they have: Classic Churro Sticks, Cup-shaped Churros with fillings.

When to go: When you want some alcohol but also want some churros at the same time.

2. Pigchurros(豬拿棒)

If you are a traditionalist, you might like the fact that Pigchurros is a breakfast store where churros are traditionally served.

Except… their churros are actually not traditional Spanish style churros either. But who care, they taste amazing :)

If you think eating churros at midnight and pairing them with cocktails is too much of a heresy for you as a traditionalist, then you might like the fact that Pigchurros is a breakfast store where churros are traditionally served.

Except… their churros are actually not traditional Spanish style churros either. According to their Instagram profile, they call their churros store “Freestyle Churros Store” whose churros leaning more towards Korean style churros as opposed to traditional Spanish ones. But who cares, they taste amazing!

They serve churro sticks with ice cream on the side, classic teardrop shapes churros, and a churro version of Pig in a Blanket. They also offer a picnic box with 5 to 15 churros inside that you order, buy, and take with you.

To be honest, I can’t really tell what are the differences between Korean-style churros and traditional Spanish churro, but the inside of the churros at Pigchurros are more on a chewy side as opposed to the soft, creamy texture of Spanish churro. That being said, I really like their churros!

3. Locojina Station(Loco 吉拿站)

Churros from Locojina Station are the most cost-effective options and is my go-to place for some on the go churros!

Wanna grab a quick churro while on your way to wherever? Then head to Locojina Station because they offer all kinds of on-the-go churros that are absolutely delicious!

You’ll find Locojina Station in the Shida Night Market, which works out well for you because it means you’ll be right next to lots of other savory food and beverages to go with your churros.

In addition to being the most cost-effective churro spot on my list, Locojina Station is also the one having the most varieties of churro desserts!

They have Chocolate-Coated Churros with different toppings. They also have Churro Bites, Churro Fries, Churro Hotdogs, Cream-Filled Churros, Churro Sundae, Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches, and more.

I recommend their “Cheese, Salt&Pepper Churro bites” and Chocolate-Coated Churros, especially the latter. OMG, it’s so evily delicious!

The only thing I do not recommend is their churro sundae since it’s made with ice cream instead of soft cream and is a bit on the hard side. ( By the way, if you want some churro sundae, I have one recommendation later in this article.)

4. Street Churros

What is the best thing to do while listening to K-Pop? Eating Churro Sundae of course !

Do you remember I said if you want some churro sundae, I have one recommendation? That is Street Churro!

I saved this to the end of the article because I believe before we pay attention to international chains that already have enough advertising resources and publicity, independent restaurants having good quality food usually do not get enough attention they deserved.

That being said, I have nothing against international chains, and some of them have really good churros too, Street Churro is one of them.

Street Churro is a famous churro chain from Korea, they offer churro sundae, filled-churros, churro fries, tear-shaped churro rings, and churro hot dogs.

Their churro sundae is of the best quality compared to other churro spots on this list because they use soft cream instead of ice cream, which I personally think go better with churros since it’s easier to dip into it or to scoop your soft cream with churros. The atmosphere is great too especially if you like K-pop.
